Red Dead Redemption has been getting a lot of coverage lately, and for good reason.  Rockstar Games has called the project their “most ambitious game to date”.  With this in mind the company, responsible for the Grand Theft Auto series, is planning on a very large advertising campaign.  The game had a strong showing at PAX East (trust me, I was in that line for quite a while), and with this in mind Rockstar will not only being doing the usual viral and television ads, but they will also be bringing advertisement into the theaters hoping to draw on the cinematic quality of the game in order to get people more interested in the project.

With Rockstar placing so much of their resources into Red Dead Redemption it will be interesting to see if the game does well commercially, as the company expects.  The demo they offered at PAX was good, but we’ll have to wait for the full version to find out if it is a game of the year contender.
