The media is always looking for someone to blame. Movies, music and other forms of entertainment get blamed as well.

I remember Eminem getting a lot of flack after Columbine because the two killers were fans of his music.

I couldn't agree with you more, and I, like many of you, are tired of the Video Game Industry constantly being labeled the "cause" of these violent outbursts, when movies like Saw (all 6 of them), Nightmare on Elmstreet, all the Friday the 13th street movies getting off scott-free. Not everyone has a video game system with violent games, but almost everyone watches movies. I think it's bull shit anyway, I've been playing games since I was three (A Link to the Past anyone?), and violent, hackem/slashem movies since I can rememer. Hell, my first memorable nightmare was because of Nightmare on Elmstreet. I don't go around blowing people up, shooting them, hacking limbs off, and other such violent/gruesome means of violence. Sure, I'll get upset in a game online, and talk some serious smack to them. I may threaten to find them, and show them how that scenario should have played out, but, even given the chance to meet them, I wouldn't kill them. It's just a game. It's a passion. A hobby. A lifestyle.
