The Couch Campus team is changing constantly. There are those who have been with us from the very beginning and those who have only just joined. Writing is a very difficult task and one that only a few find they actually enjoy. The staff is as diverse as they are talented and genuinely enjoy what they do here.
Writing Staff
Phaethon - Editor-in-Chief/Founder
Brian Young is the founder and owner of Couch Campus as well as an administrator at Gamersyde. He began playing video games in 1998 when he got his first Playstation and has been hooked ever since. He currently resides in Florida while working towards a Bachelor’s Degree at Florida State University. He hopes to one day pursue a full time writing career.
Corey Coates is a writer that has been with Couch Campus from the start. His love for gaming began way back in the days of the NES, when he became hooked on Super Mario Bros. 3 and Adventure Island. Since then, Corey has grown up on the SNES and N64, so a love for retro games will always be there. With a love for writing, he is attending college for Journalism, in hopes of getting a Bachelors Degree and doing something he is passionate about.
Deftangel resides in London, England where he works as a games tester and analyst for a media regulator. He maintains a certain amount of poise when discussing and writing on video games that translates into his play style as well. He is one of three Couch Campus writers who are also administrators at Gamersyde.
Avillain – Staff Writer
While best known for his music with his debut album “Relic Of A Bygone Era” looming on the horizon, Avillain O`Sullivan is also a diverse multimedia figure with multiple projects in the works. Avillain is currently working toward his Bachelors degree, double majoring in Cinema and Creative Writing at Binghamton University in New York. Here he is a featured columnist, specializing in sports and television articles. He also currently co-hosts the web-series “The Dorm Room Live @ Couch Campus”.
GriftGFX – Editorial Writer
Jay is the last editor who also moderates Gamersyde. He is a Graphics Designer who is also responsible for some of the artwork present on the site. He is heavily into Call of Duty which is the main reason as to why he has posted so infrequently on Couch Campus. He hopes to branch out into full time art construction in the near future.
